About Celina Jensen
Hi, I’m Celina, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, anger, relationship strain, and chronic stress – many of whom appear capable on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed or disconnected.
My path to counselling was shaped by nearly two decades in international humanitarian work. During that time, I lived and worked in countries affected by conflict and disaster, including Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Haiti, supporting children and families impacted by war, displacement, and violence. Working alongside people navigating these experiences shaped my understanding of trauma –not only as a clinical concept, but as a lived experience affecting the body, relationships, and sense of safety in the world. This understanding led me to pursue counselling.
Today, this background informs my clinical lens. I bring steadiness, emotional regulation, and relational depth into the therapy room, creating a space where clients can make sense of their experiences and reconnect with themselves.
My Approach
My work is grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based therapies. I integrate EMDR, parts work (IFS-informed), narrative therapy, and somatic and mindfulness-based techniques to support psychological and nervous system healing.
Many of the people I work with have spent years managing significant responsibilities, balancing work, relationships, and family life while trying to hold it all together.
Therapy is a space to explore what shapes your emotional responses and make sense of patterns that may no longer serve you. Together, we process difficult experiences, regulate the nervous system, and deepen your understanding of yourself.
Who I Work With
I work with first responders, veterans, helping professionals, and other working professionals who carry significant responsibility in their professional and personal lives. I also support women navigating the emotional impact of a traumatic or difficult birth experience.
Many of the clients I support have experienced significant stress or trauma – sometimes through a single event and other times through years of cumulative pressure or earlier life experiences.
Clients often reach out when they begin noticing the impact of these experiences in their daily lives, including:
High levels of stress from demanding work or life circumstances
Burnout, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, or anger
The effects of a traumatic event such as an accident, critical incident exposure, crime,
or medical experience
The emotional impact of a traumatic birth experience
Persistent overwhelm or feeling constantly on edge
Relationship patterns that feel difficult to change
Challenges navigating significant life events or transitions
